Practice of Architectural Creation Based on"The New From The Old":From the Great Hall of the People to the Museum of the Communist Party of China
From academic research to design and practice,each step involves the integration of disciplines.The prototype of combining society,technology and nature has become a key for every architectural creator in implementing the architectural policy of"practical,economical,green and beautiful"."The new from the old"emphasizes that architects should have a historical view of architecture and architectural culture perspective,which are lasting architectural wisdom.Design technology should be applied and focus shall be put on creating a space with an inherent order that exists in history and culture,which not only gives users a sense of belonging but also requires an exploratory spirit,and is especially critical for commemorative architecture.Starting from historical facts,this paper re-examines the Great Hall of the People,which has been completed for 65 years,and studies the Museum of the Communist Party of China built in 2021.From the perspective of inheritance and innovation,this paper also compares their creators'practices and characteristics of"the new from the old"in different historical periods.This paper has profound value for understanding the relationship between digital development and heritage and between heritage and innovation at the forefront of contemporary architecture.
