Enhancing"Industrial Verticalization"through Design Innovation:A Case Study of High-Energy Industrial Complex Development in Qiantang District,Hangzhou
As urban development continues to expand,the availability of industrial land is diminishing,leading to escalating development costs.This article examines the three key characteristics of"industrial verticalization",identifies five distinctive features,and proposes solutions to four major challenges,highlighting the inevitable shift towards industrial verticalization in the integration of production and urban growth.Policy guidance,development collaboration,design innovation,and investment strategies are identified as key drivers of this model.Drawing on the development experience of two high-energy industrial complexes in Qiantang District,Hangzhou,this study underscores the critical role of design innovation in industrial verticalization.The innovation efforts are geared towards enhancing product quality,supporting the sustainable growth of resident businesses,and fostering a sense of community among users,with the ultimate goal of maximizing land use efficiency,optimizing service provision,and fostering cutting-edge industrial complexes.
