Rural Landscape Planning In Japan From The Perspective Of Satochi-Satoyama And Landscape Machidukuri
“Satochi-satoyama” is a general summary of rural landscape in Japan, which shows high specificity, varied from other countries. In the other hand, “machidukuri” is a unique set of planning methods meeting its own country conditions, which influences the rural landscape planning in Japan a lot. This paper is about the links between the idea of “satochi-satoyama” and the working methods of “machidukuri”, and their impacts on rural landscape planning in Japan.
