After the 1960s,phenomenology began to have an impact on the field of architecture, among which the architectural phenomenology explored by Norwegian architectural history and theorist Christian Norberg Schulz and the related concepts, such as"authentic architecture"and"genius loci"are significant. The paper begins with the analysis of"authenticity",and through the analysis of the connection and transformation among"authenticity","poetically man dwells"and"authentic architecture",it points out that Noe's"authentic architecture"definition error. The paper then analyzes the proper meaning of"authentic architecture"and the characteristics of"authentic architecture"as a figurative one.The paper concludes by pointing out that authentic architecture is not a kind of architecture that cares about places, nor an architecture with a definite design concept, but an architecture that is always open to the various connections and attributes of people and architecture.
