A Study on the Renewal Strategy of Railroad Passenger Stations based on the Perspective of Station-city Integration:The Example of Many Stations in Japan
China's railroad passenger stations can no longer meet the needs of passenger travel and urban development at this stage, and the renewal of railroad passenger stations in cooperation with the surrounding cities is urgent. In this context, based on the perspective of"station-city integration",this paper presents the problems of mismatch between the scale of railroad passenger station construction and passenger flow, the disconnection between the construction mode and the city, and the lack of policies to support the renewal;then it summarizes the strategies to deal with similar problems by combining the typical cases of Japanese stations such as Toranomon,Tsuchiura, and Larkhill. Finally, renewal design strategies are proposed in three dimensions:planning, architecture and policy. This study provides important countermeasure support to alleviate the current pain point problems, and is expected to have implications for policy enactment and integration construction between railroad and city-related departments.
