A Preliminary Research on the Characteristics and Spatial Layout of Shitang Diaolou
The stone house settlement in Shitang,Wenling,Zhejiang is home to a large number of Diao Lou,which are important components of the settlement's defense system.Analyzing the characteristics of Diao Lou and their spatial layout is of great significance for the study of Shitang settlement.This paper conducts on-site investigations and surveys to observe the current status of the Diao Lou in Shitang,and compares them with those in other settlements in China through literature research,analyzing and summarizing the characteristics of the Diao Lou in Shitang.The Diao Lou are divided into pure defensive Diao Lou and residential Diao Lou.Furthermore,this paper explores the spatial layout characteristics of Diao Lou in Shitang and their relationship with the settlement.
