From the Medieval Monastery to the Modern University Campus
The integrated impact of urbanization and anti-urbanization are consistent in the evolution of the modern educational architecture and campus.This process originated from the European medieval monastery and temporarily stopped in the contemporary micro-urbanism metropolitan campus.In different eras,changes of the education campus'spatial forms reflect the relationship between town and gown,and also the interaction between the university and the city.Chronologically,the paper discusses the types of education campus in the milestone and summarizes the influence on the spatial changes in education campus,which caused by distinct demands in teacher-student groups'academic activities and city living.
