Exploration of Strategies for Activating the Spatial Environment of Taihu Lake Ancient Villages:A Case Study of Wengxiang Ancient Village
Traditional villages are facing serious survival and development problems under the impact of modern civilization and large-scale urban construction.Effective measures are urgently needed to promote their revitalization and rejuvenation.This paper explores the activation strategies of the spatial environment of Taihu Lake ancient villages,using a case study of Wengxiang Ancient Village.Firstly,an analysis of the village's history,current situation,and problems revealed issues such as the loss of traditional humanistic environment,insufficient participation in characteristic industries,inadequate public space,and an unfriendly tourism environment.Specific implementation plans were proposed based on the actual situation of Wengxiang,including introducing functions to traditional buildings,increasing cultural and historical exhibitions,encouraging individual participation of villagers,clarifying signage of scenic spots,and improving public space and facilities.
