In the context of high-quality urban and rural development,meme theory has become an emerging hot spot in the field of urban and rural planning research,and is widely used in specific project practices such as rural revitalization,historic district protection,and urban renewal.This chapter studies the research status,practical significance and specific application of meme theory in the field of urban and rural planning,and summarizes the existing research on meme theory in the field of urban and rural planning,such as unclear definition of concept and connotation,insufficient research systematization,and weak guidance for practice,and then discusses the development trend of meme theory in the field of urban and rural planning.
