The acceleration of urbanization has made the development and utilization of urban underground space more and more important,but the current research on its temporal and spatial characteristics is not comprehensive enough.The article puts the underground space system on the two axes of time and space for analysis:in the time dimension,it emphasizes the diachronic and gradual development characteristics of urban underground space,and sorts out its development process through three stages:survival of nature,technology guidance,and resource utilization;in terms of spatial dimension,the multi-dimensional system integration mechanism of urban underground space is discussed from the three levels of macro-urban system,meso-urban area and micro-urban space.The research has dual values of theory and application to realize the continuity of historical development of underground space and the unity of practical creation and applicability.
