Prototype and Evolution:An Analysis on the Spatial Composition of Three Types of Ancestral Halls in Lanxi
In addition to the courtyard type,there are three other prototypes in Lanxi Ancestral Halls,i.e.surround-type,H-type and T-type.In Jinda Ancestral Hall,Renshan Academy and Zhongxiao Hall in Duntou Village,the three prototypes are expanded in a flexible way.These compositions not only maintain the meaning of the prototype space,but also meet the needs of function and external form.The prototype-based evolution and expansion is inspiring for contemporary architectural design.
