A Study on the Genetic Diversity of Wooden-frame Dwellings of Minority Ethnic Groups in the Middle Reaches of the Lancang River
The area of middle reaches of the Lancang River Basin is located in the hinterland of the Three Parallel Rivers and the Tibetan-Yi Corridor,with outstanding cultural diversity and a large number of traditional dwellings and settlements.This paper takes wooden-frame dwelling,which is the most widely-used and representative type in this area as the object,and investigates the genetic diversity of it from the three dimensions of technology,space,and symbolism.The interior forms of wooden-frame dwellings in this area are very diverse,among which,the building technology and spatial layout are jointly affected by the factors of region and ethnicity,while the cultural symbols are dominated by ethnicity.It shows the diversity of the architectural forms in this area,and the close relations among them,which reflects the diversity of the natural and cultural environment and the exchanges and blending among the ethnic groups.
