Simulation Analysis of Passenger Flow at Urban Bus BRT Stations based on AnyLogic
ln recent years, public transportation has rapidly developed in various cities. After the development of rail transit networks, the growth of BRT(Bus Rapid Transit)has been limited.Ensuring safe operation and optimizing station space design during the development and sustainability phases have become the challenges and priorities for BRT stations.Generally, apart from conventional static analysis, there is no well-established evaluation method.Taking the BRT stations on the Second Ring Road in Chengdu as an example,by introducing AnyLogic pedestrian simulation technology, the operational conditions of existing typical stations under normal and extreme circumstances are tested. This approach provides a very intuitive evaluation of their traffic status and provides feedback on utilizing station space to optimize space utilization while meeting passenger flow requirements. The simulation shows that the current state of the Chengdu BRT stations can accommodate peak commuting conditions, but there is still available space for utilization.
