Research of Stonemason System in Traditional Building Construction Activities:A Case Study of Stonemason Construction in Jinzhong Region
The construction activities of traditional architecture cannot be separated from the hard work of craftsmen.In history,there were many stone masons in the Jinzhong Region.There are nearly 2000 stone masons clearly recorded on the existing 1100 stone tablets,among which the number of stone masons in Pingyao,Shouyang,and Zuoquan was relatively large and frequent,gradually forming a inheritance system mainly composed of families and apprentices.This paper analyzes the information of stone masons recorded on existing steles in the Jinzhong Region,seeks its development and inheritance laws and activity characteristics,and provides a new perspective and approach for studying the historicity of traditional architecture.
