A Study of Spatial Characterization of Biophilic Design in Green Schools
In the context of urbanization and severe environmental problems,"green schools"have been applied in many developed countries as one of the countermeasures to improve the educational environment. With the goal of providing students with environmental education places necessary for their emotional development and character education, green schools emphasize the introduction of natural and sustainable elements into school design and management to create opportunities for learning in natural environments;biophilic design creates environments for interacting with nature by establishing direct experiences with nature, indirect experiences, and spatial-placial experiences in space. This study analyzes the spatial characteristics of the application of biophilic design in green schools, and proposes a direction for the creation of sustainable educational environments that promote the healthy development of students. The relationship between green schools and biophilic design and the case study and validation are utilized to derive three types of spatial characteristics of biophilic design green schools. The method of creating a sustainable educational environment that promotes the healthy development of students is proposed.
