Abstract
Two classic texts on tectonics-Kenneth Frampton's Studies in Tectonic Culture and Chad Schwartz's Introducing Architectural Tectonics-are studied comparatively through three levels:the interpretation of tectonic concept,the discourse from theory to practice,and architectural immateriality.Meanwhile,this essay indicates that Schwartz's text opens up new possibilities of understanding tectonics at present.
