A Study on Renewal Strategies for Traditional Residences on West Main Street of Dai County from the Perspective of Constructed Memory
Under contemporary development trends,urban progress has begun to focus on the reuse and optimization of existing resources.Historic districts,due to their unique and enduring cultural value,have gradually become a focal point of societal attention.A crucial challenge faced by these historic areas in urban renewal is how to preserve these invaluable historical memories while ensuring their harmonious coexistence with modern design elements.This paper focuses on the West Street of Daixian Ancient City in Xinzhou,Shanxi Province,as its research subject.By delving deep into the historical district of this ancient city,it aims to analyze how the concept of"Constructing Memory"practically assists districts in retaining regional characteristics and maintaining historical continuity during the renewal process.Based on this exploration,the paper proposes related renewal strategies.
