Exploration of the Renewal Strategies for the Old Campuses of Universities with National Defense Characteristics in the Age of Stock:Taking the Youyi Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University as an Example
National defense characteristic universities have made significant contributions to the development of national defense technology and urban technological innovation in China.The old campuses of these universities were generally built in the 1950s and 1960s,with increasingly prominent contradictions such as limited space,a large proportion of old buildings,and outdated infrastructure.The demand for renewal is strong.In the era of stock,in-depth research on the renewal strategies of old campuses of such universities is an important topic for urban stock renewal.The article takes the Friendship Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University as an example to study the planning strategy and practice of stock renewal.The results show that fully leveraging the advantages of distinctive military industry culture,by improving functional layout,updating old buildings,reshaping road systems,and optimizing landscape greening,can improve educational functions,fill development gaps,and activate the vitality of the old campus.The research results can be used for reference by other universities.
