Renewal of Shangjieli-Silverfish Lane from the Perspective of Urban Catalyst
In modern big cities, the regeneration of old streets has always been an important part of urban development. The mode of"emphasizing construction but neglecting protection"is widespread in urban renewal, which has caused great losses in the history and culture of the city.In 1989,American architects Wayne Attoe and Donn Logan summarized and put forward the theory of urban catalyst, and put forward a new idea for the renovation of old streets,so that"protection"and"construction"could be taken into account.Based on the theory of urban catalyst, taking the reconstruction project of"Shangjieli-Yinyu Lane"in Qingdao as an example, this paper discusses the important role of urban catalyst theory in the reconstruction of old blocks and the reproduction of urban vitality, with a view to providing reference for the future practice of old street regeneration.
