Evaluation of the Vitality of Beijing's Historic Streets based on Value Dimensions
Historical streets are an important component of urban heritage environment,reflecting urban characteristics while also carrying the core values of the city.At present,research on the vitality evaluation of historical streets is mostly conducted from the dimensions of space and time.However,value is also an important factor in maintaining the vitality of historical streets.This study takes 9 historical streets(3 types:cultural,commercial,and residential)in Beijing as examples,and uses Analytic Hierarchy Process to construct a value dimension vitality evaluation framework for historical streets.The evaluation indicators are:historical value(including historical environment,cultural environment,and spatial environment),usage value(including communication environment,commercial environment,and residential environment),and sustainable value(including education environment,vitality environment,and innovation environment).The results show that Dongjiaominxiang,Nanluoguxiang and Yingtaoxiejie have the highest vitality among the three street types,and cultural streets have higher vitality than commercial and residential streets.
