Academic and Theoretical Thinking of Contemporaneity and Localization on Critical Regionalism Theory
The dual critical spirit of Critical Regionalism Theory towards Regionalism and Modernism gives it strong inherent vitality and enables it to respond to urban space and socio-cultural issues in different eras,regions,and social value systems.This paper first interprets the connotation of the theory itself through a two-way criticism of the theory.Then it explores and contemplates the contemporaneity and localization of contemporary regional architectural creation in China based on the theory,in order to reply the issue of regional architecture expression.Finally,based on the theoretical background and the actual situation in China,three critical considerations are proposed to objectively discuss the potential incompatibilities and difficulties in the combination of theory and architectural creation practice in China.
