Research on Traditional Dwellings in West Guangdong Island based on Climate Adaptability:A Case Study of Peng's House in Gangtou Village of Naozhou Island
As the largest volcanic island in China,the unique landform and climate conditions of Naozhou Island in western Guangdong have a significant impact on the creation of local traditional dwellings.This paper takes the adaptive construction techniques of residential buildings in Naozhou Island to the tropical monsoon climate as the starting point,studies and analyzes the adaptability measures of the overall planning layout and detailed treatments of Peng's House in Gangtou Village from the perspectives of ventilation,shading and heat insulation,wind and moisture prevention,and summarizes the climate adaptability practices of local traditional residential buildings.
