A Study on the Relationship Between Outdoor Activities and Public Space of the Elderly in the Old Community of Mountain Cities A Case Study of Jiaxi Village,Chongqing City
Based on on-site observations and utilizing ArcGIS data analysis methods,this study investigates the correlation between the behavior of the elderly population in Jiaxi Village,Chongqing,and public spaces.The research combines questionnaire surveys and interviews to understand the subjective evaluation of the spatial environment by the elderly,as well as their main motivations for selecting activity spaces and their requirements for spatial elements.The study reveals that the elderly population expresses higher satisfaction with the comfort and communicability of spaces,while safety and accessibility aspects require improvement.The primary motivations for selecting activity spaces among the elderly include enclosure,openness,availability of recreational facilities,accessibility features,and aesthetic design.Additionally,essential spatial elements identified include seating,gentle slopes,lighting installations,extensive paving,and diverse landscapes.
