In order to adapt to the changes in the main contradictions of society,China has placed greater importance on promoting common prosperity for all people,establishing a new scientific positioning for the relationship between efficiency and fairness.The process of China's industrial structure transformation and upgrading will also profoundly change this relationship.This paper is based on data from 229 prefecture level cities in China from 2001 to 2020,and measures the level of urban common prosperity from two aspects:development level and sharing level.Empirical tests have been conducted on the impact of industrial structure adjustment on common prosperity,and the results show that the rationalization and advancement of industrial structure at the current stage contribute to improving the level of urban common prosperity.Finally,clarify the policy implications of the research and propose specific suggestions for achieving common prosperity in China in the new era.
