A Study on the Characteristics and Regional Selection of Strategic Industries:Taking the 20 Strategic Industries in Guangdong Province as an Example
Taking the 20 strategic industries in Guangdong Province as an example,this paper firstly discusses the characteristics of strategic industries and the importance of regional selection.Secondly,based on the pillar and leading characteristics of strategic industries,a comprehensive evaluation of the development performance of strategic industries in Guangdong Province is conducted from four basic characteristics,namely,industrial scale,industrial linkage,technological innovation,and industrial economic benefits.The evaluation results show that modern light industry and textile,electronic information of the new generation,and high-end equipment manufacturing industries have pillar characteristics,while biomedical and health,cutting-edge new materials,and advanced materials industries have leading characteristics.At last,it is also pointed out that cities should choose and cultivate appropriate strategic industries according to their own development stages and advantages.
