Residential traditional neighborhoods are important material carriers of historical memory and local context.However,with the development of urbanization,the neighborhoods are facing many problems that urgently need to be transformed to meet the needs of the new era,such as the facilities are aging day by day and the population is constantly moving out.Commercial renewal is one of the important means for the transformation and upgrading of the traditional residential blocks.With the proposal of cultural strategies in recent years,cultural protection and inheritance have become important aspects of urban development today.In this context,how to balance the needs of cultural inheritance and commercial development in residential traditional neighborhoods and achieve protective development has become a new issue.
