Research on the Reuse Strategy of Small Third Tier Industrial Heritage from the Perspective of Regional Culture:A Case Study of Yuekechong 940 Factory in Xuancheng City,Anhui Province
The small-third-front construction is a physical witness of industrial activities in the 1960s,with its own unique historical, cultural, and regional characteristics.Yuekechong was listed in the list of Chinese traditional villages due to the integrity and cultural significance of the 940 Factory heritage. In order to leverage the value of the industrial heritage, some of the workshops of the 940 Factory have been renovated and reused. However, the utilization method manifests as a simplification of inserting new functions into the old workshops, lacking the inheritance of the overall regional culture of the traditional village, and it is difficult to fully exert the positive role of the small-third-front military factory in the revitalization process of Yuekechong. Therefore, this paper sorts out the regional culture of Yuekechong from three aspects:setting, village pattern, and historical building. And combined with the problems existing in the process of updating and utilizing the small-third-front industrial heritage, three strategies for protecting and inheriting regional culture are proposed:reproducing the scene, reviving the cultural context, and sustainable development. This will help Yuekechong strengthen its own regional cultural advantages in the new stage of development and form differentiated development from other traditional villages in southern Anhui.
