Interpretation of Luke Him Sau's Regional Space Design in the Design of Bank of China in Qingdao
Around the 1930s,China entered an era of turmoil and development, and many architects were attempting to explore the design of new Chinese architecture through their works. As the head of the Construction Department of Bank of China,Mr.Luke Him Sau has designed a large number of banking public buildings in various parts of China. His design, represented by Bank of Qingdao,China, shows a difference from contemporary architects. It refuses to consider design from the perspective of decoration and appearance, and attempts to explore the design of new Chinese architecture in a regionalist way to create new architectural language construction to interpret the inheritance of Chinese architecture. This special thinking logic makes Luke Him Sau stand out among modern Chinese architectural designers and deserves more attention.
