Research on the Spatial Form of Traditional Villages'Human Settlement in Jinting Town,Suzhou
In the past few decades,a large number of traditional villages have rapidly evolved,updated,or disappeared with the process of urbanization in China.Jinting Town in Suzhou is located in the highly urbanized Yangtze River Delta region,and traditional villages are relatively concentrated in this town.Therefore,it is confronted with heavy tasks of protecting and developing traditional villages'human settlement.This paper applies Spatial Syntax Theory and selects indicators such as global integration,local integration,intelligibility,and synergy to quantitatively analyze the spatial form characteristics of seven national traditional villages'human settlement in Jinting Town,Suzhou.Corresponding optimization strategies are proposed to provide reference for the protection and development of traditional villages'human settlement in this town.
