Abstract
The concepts in Vitruvius's Ten Books of Architecture are complex,and the interpretation of them in Perrault's translation is modern and operable.This paper analyzes the concepts of"ordonnance"and"symmetry"in Vitruvius'Ten Books of Architecture,Perrault's French translation of Ten Books of Architecture and Perrault's Ordonnance for the Five Kinds of Columns after the Method of the Ancients,and discusses the background and influence of these concepts'changes.
