Exploration of Undergraduate Teaching Reform in Urban and Rural Planning Based on the Maintain-Substitute-Augment-Modify-Redefine(PSAMR)Model in the Information 4.0 Era
The Information 4.0 Era presents requirements for efficiency, intelligence, and interdisciplinarity in the cultivation of undergraduate talent in Urban and Rural Planning Major. In response, this study introduces the Maintain-Substitute-Augment-Modify-Redefine(PSAMR)Model to propose a path for undergraduate teaching reform in Urban and Rural Planning Major that aligns with the demands of the Information 4.0 Era.In the maintain phase, the core courses of Urban and Rural Planning Major are identified to ensure coherence and stability;the substitute phase introduces new technologies to replace traditional teaching tools, enhancing the efficiency of resource access and utilization;in the augment phase, new technologies such as Big Data Analysis,VR Technology, and 3D Modeling deepen and expand the functionality of the courses;the modify phase involves significant redesign of the courses, utilizing modular design and new technologies to improve students'practical skills and theoretical understanding;in the redefine phase, elective courses such as Smart City Planning,Intelligent Design, and Big Data Analysis are added, incorporating Large Model applications to further develop students'innovation capabilities and interdisciplinary collaboration in a new technological environment.Through the analysis of the needs of Urban and Rural Planning Major in the Information 4.0 Era and the exploration of the teaching system reform based on the PSAMR Model, this study provides a new perspective for optimizing the teaching system of Urban and Rural Planning Major.
