Safety Sense of Women's Night Walking on Urban Roads:Taking the Road of Huazhong University of Science and Technology as an Example
Enhancing women's night-time safety on urban roads is vital for creating inclusive,female-friendly cities is a key aspect of people-centered urban development.This study focuses on identifying the factors influencing women's night-time safety and developing road evaluation models.Using the campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology as a case study,126 female students were surveyed through a framework combining focus interviews,scenario analysis,and road optimization.The study establishes three safety evaluation models—"forest paths""paths between buildings"and"vehicle roads"—and applies them to assess road safety on the university campus.
