Weaving and Rebirth:Research on the Reuse Mode of Space under Urban Elevated Bridges
Urban elevated bridges are an inevitable product of modern cities meeting transportation needs within limited road land. While they bring accessibility to cities, they also cause negative impacts such as the fragmentation of urban space, and give rise to the ancillary product of space under the bridge. The paper summarizes the characteristics and current problems of under bridge space in China through the study of cases of space renovation under elevated bridges at home and abroad.Combined with the concept of urban weaving, four reusing modes of under bridge space are proposed in order to provide new ideas for the reshaping of under bridge space in China.
