Pingyao Ancient City Wall is an integral part of the ancient city,has garnered significant attention for its heritage value.This paper reviews the historical restoration efforts of the Pingyao Ancient City Wall,starting from the period following the founding of the People's Republic of China to the present day,and explores the heritage conservation work carried out under the principles of"restoring the old as it was"and"repairing the old as the old"within the context of Pingyao County's tourism development.
