Objective To explore the influence of process improvement under the optimization of value stream mapping(VSM)on the business process time and operating room efficiency of gynecological surgery patients.Methods A total of 121 gynecological patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the study ob-jects.A quasi-experimental study was carried out,and with the method of self before and after control,gynecological patients under-going surgery from July 2021 to December 2021(n=59)were set as the control group,and gynecological patients undergoing surgery from January 2022 to June 2022(n=62)were set as the observation group.The nursing staff of the control group gave the patients the routine gynecological surgery business process,and the observation group intervened with the VSM optimization business process on the basis of the control group.The differences of operation-related business process time,operation stoppage rate,operation efficiency,patients'satisfaction with nursing(PSNCQQ)and nursing staff shift satisfaction(NASR)before and after intervention were compared between the two groups.Results After VSM intervention,the operation related business process time in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the rate of stopping operation in observation group was lower than that in control group(P<0.05);the anesthesia time and admission time of patients in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05);the nursing satisfaction score of observation group was higher than that of control group(P<0.05);the satisfaction score of nurses after intervention was higher than that before intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion The process improvement under VSM opti-mization can effectively reduce the business process time and the discontinuation rate of gynecological surgery patients,improve the op-erating efficiency of the operating room,and improve the satisfaction degree of nursing staff and patients'satisfaction degree of periop-erative nursing.
