Application of Smart Wearables in Health Management for Elderly Patients with Hypertension
Objective To explore the impact of smart wearables on the management and improvement of physical and psychologi-cal health,as well as lifestyle of elderly patients with hypertension. Methods A total of 124 elderly hypertensive patients from 18 ex-perimental communities in Jinzhou City were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. The control group received health education, and the experimental group received smart wearable intervention. The intervention time was 6 months. The treatment rate, blood pressure control rate, actual health status(SF-36 scale)and self-management behavior(HPSMBRS score scale)of the two groups were observed and compared. Results Blood pressure control rate(87.10%),total score of quality of life(606.92±30.04)and total score of disease self-management behavior(117.46±7.02)in test group were better than those in control group(69.35%),in which the total score of quality of life(560.89±32.10)and total score of disease self-management behavior(110.08±5.41).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Smart wearables can improve the living habits of elderly hypertensive patients such as medication compliance, enhance patients'physical and mental health status and disease self-management behavior. The effect of universal application is worthy of expectation.
