Objective To explore the mediating effect of self-perceived burden on the quality of life and health beliefs of patients after percutaneous coronary intervention, providing a theoretical basis for improving the health beliefs of patients after PCI.Methods Using convenience sampling method,330 postoperative PCI patients who underwent outpatient follow-up visits from a tertiary Grade A hospital in Jinzhou City,Liaoning Province from October 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were investigated using the Coronary Heart Disease Health Belief Questionnaire,Self-perceived Burden Scale, and SF-36 Health Survey Scale. Results The health belief score of patients after PCI was(103.33±17.38)points;the total score of self-perceived burden is(28.32±9.41)points;the quality of life score is(67.07±10.10)points;health beliefs are negatively correlated with self-per-ceived burden(r=-0.300,P<0.01),positively correlated with quality of life(r=0.388,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with self-perceived burden(r=-0.435,P<0.01);self-perceived burden partially mediates the relationship between quality of life and health beliefs, with a mediating effect accounting for 18.2%of the total effect. Conclusion Self-perceived burden plays a par-tial mediating role between the quality of life and health beliefs of patients after PCI.Clinical workers should encourage patients to re-duce their self-perceived burden and psychological pressure, improve the quality of life, and improve the level of health belief.
