Analysis on the Monitoring of Measles and Rubella IgG Antibody Levels among Students Studying Abroad in Zhuhai City
Objective To monitor the levels of measles and rubella IgG antibodies among students studying abroad in Zhuhai City,and propose recommendations for measles and rubella vaccination in adults and adolescents,in order to provide scientific basis for further strengthening the prevention and control of measles and rubella by health departments and port health quarantine departments.Methods To organize the vaccination status of measles and rubella prevention among students studying abroad in Zhuhai from March 2023 to March 2023,and to test the serum samples of the population for measles and rubella virus IgG antibody levels.Statistical analysis was conducted on the overall status of measles and rubella virus IgG antibodies among students studying abroad,as well as the differences in measles and rubella virus IgG antibody levels among different groups.Results Among the 314 survey subjects,the total positive rates of measles and rubella IgG antibodies were 69.11%and 63.38%,respec-tively.The positive rates of measles antibodies for individuals aged 15 and below,16-20 years old,21-25 years old,26-30 years old,31-35 years old,36 years old and above were 83.33%,72.84%,68.42%,66.67%,78.57%,and 50.00%,respectively;The positive rates of rubella antibodies were 66.67%,66.67%,61.40%,70.83%,57.14%,and 61.11%;There was no statistically significant difference in the positive rates of measles and rubella IgG anti-bodies between different genders(P>0.05);There was no significant difference in the positive rates of measles and rubella IgG antibodies among individuals of different age groups(P>0.05);There was no statistically significant dif-ference in the positive rates of measles and rubella IgG antibodies among individuals from different regions(P>0.05).Conclusion The overall positivity rate of measles,rubella,and antibodies among overseas students in Zhu-hai exceeds 60%,while the positivity rate among people over 36 years old is relatively low.Adults should consider strengthening their vaccination against mumps.
