Monitoring and Analysis of Vector Interceptions at Jinan Customs Port from 2021 to August 2023
Objective To provide scientific basis for preventing entry vector organisms by mastering the situation of entry vector organisms intercepted at various ports under the jurisdiction of Jinan Customs.Methods We made monitoring of inbound vector organisms,including rodents,adult mosquitoes,mosquito larvae,adult flies,fly larvae,cockroaches,and conducting pathogen laboratory tests on them,at various ports under the jurisdiction of Jinan Cus-toms from 2021 to August 2023.Results We found positive signs of rodents in incoming ships and aircraft,con-tainers,goods,express parcels,and postal parcels at the port.We intercepted 336 adult mosquitoes at the port of en-try,including 266 culex pipiens pallens,36 culex triangularis,and 34 Anopheles sinensis,the pathogen laboratory tests of which such as yellow fever,dengue fever,malaria,and chikungunya fever were all negative.We intercepted 866 cockroaches,all of which were German cockroaches,the pathogen laboratory tests of which such as Escherichia coli,Enterococcus,Acinetobacter,Weissella and Candida glabrata were detected.Conclusion It is possible to promptly detect and handle vector organisms carrying pathogens,and prevent the spread of diseases through ports,by strengthening the monitoring of vector organisms on inbound transportation vehicles at ports.This is of great sig-nificance for safeguarding national health and economic production.
