Age of ore-bearing strata of Xindie iron deposit in Taxkorgan of West Kunlun and its geological significance
The Bulunkuole Group is a main component of the Taxkorgan Terrane of West Kunlun and represents the ore-bearing strata of iron deposits in the region, including the prominent deposits such as Laobing,Zankan,Ka-laizi,and Yelike. The Xindie iron deposit is a newly discovered small deposit in the northern part of the Taxkor-gan iron belt, and the main ore-bearing lithology is quartz schist, mica plagioclase schist and marble. The forma-tion of Xindie iron deposit is closely related to sedimentary mineralization, and its main ore body intimate with the iron-bearing formation at the bottom of the Bulunkuole Group, and is produced along the bed.Based on the chronology of the detrital zircons in the Bulunkuole Group and the ore body of the Xindie iron deposit in the Tashkorgan Terrane, the age of the youngest detrital zircons in the Bulunkuole Group is mainly 588.0-513.6 Ma.Therefore, the author speculated that the formation age of the Bulunkuole Group in the Xindie iron deposit should be later than 588.0-513.6 Ma,which is a Cambrian. The formation of the new layer iron ore is related to the iron construction deposits of the Cambria, and has undergone regional advanced metamorphism and magmatic hydro-thermal reform in the later period. The Bulunkuole Group in Xindie iron deposit was formed in the early Paleozo-ic and should be separated from the paleoproterozoic strata of the original division scheme.
