Ku Hung-min is renowned as a master of traditional Chinese culture.Compared to his status as a translator,scholars in foreign countries are more amazed by his cultural achievements and pay little attention to his translation achievements.Therefore,the research on Ku Hung-min's English translation of The Discourses and Sayings off Confucius is mainly seen in the domestic translation community.The research is divided into three dimensions:case studies,comparative studies,and project studies,focusing on his translation strategy,transla-tion stance,cultural identity,and translator subjectivity.It mainly includes studies on cultural loaded words,translation methods,translators,cultural communication,and translation inadequacy.Although some achieve-ments have been made in this respect,there are still problems such as the absence of local translation theories,weak dissemination,static research models,and repetitive research content.Future research should focus on the application of local translation theory,the exploration of research characteristics,the summary of translation ide-as,and the exploration of foreign dissemination.The expansion of the research on Ku Hung-min's English translation of The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius will help deepen the research on the English translation of classical books and promote the going global of Chinese culture.
