The road construction led by the dynastic state plays an important role in maintaining national unity and promoting communication,exchange,and integration among various ethnic groups.The road construction in the middle and lower reaches of the Wujiang River Basin during the Ming Dynasty was a process of joint participation by the central government,local chieftains,.and various ethnic groups,ulti-mately forming a water land transportation network centered on Sinan Prefecture,which formed the basic conditions for communication,exchange,and integration among various ethnic groups,and had a com-prehensive impact on the ethnic structure,social order,economic life,cultural appearance,and other aspects of Sinan Prefecture.The national,immigrant,and ethnic elements involved in road construction have promoted the interaction and interaction among multiple ethnic groups in the areas along the route,leading to a continuous reduction in the gaps in the network.Taking roads as the starting point helps to understand the diverse and integrated pattern of the southwest of China,and provides historical experi-ence reference for the construction of the Chinese national community.
