It is the critical moment of comprehensively promoting national rejuvenation through a Chi-nese path to modernization.The traditional race of Shui people with distinctive characteristics of the times should be integrated into the construction of national modernization and take the Chinese path to moderni-zation.However,combing the research literature on traditional race of Shui people shows that the existing research is difficult to provide strong academic support for the development of Chinese path to moderniza-tion of traditional race of Shui people in terms of research topics,research methods or theoretical guid-ance.Therefore,there is an urgent need to further deepen and expand research topics,innovate research methods including multi species ethnography,ethnography in-depth description,and case expansion,and draw on the Chinese path to modernization theory,the"two combination"theory,the actor network theory and other more cutting-edge theories,so as to promote the innovation and breakthrough of the ac-ademic research on traditional horse racing of the Shui people,in order to provide intellectual support for the practical development of the modernization of traditional horse racing of the Shui people.
