The Orientation and Paradigm of the Study on China's Ethnic Language Policies since the Founding of the People's Republic of China
After the founding of the PRC,language work and language policies in areas with large eth-nic minority populations gradually developed from language tools to language standardization,normaliza-tion,informatization,and moved from the legalization construction to the language service and abilities'improvement in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,which strengthens the community i-dentity as the goal.National language policies and language policies in ethnic minority areas have been developing in parallel.The research trends of regional language policies evolution and characteristics,language education practice,family language practice and language ecology presented in areas with large ethnic minority reflect the particularity and adjustment of language policies in these areas.In the basic context of research,it focuses on the two research paradigms of the policy formulation practice and identi-fication.And the perspective moves to the regional and subject level,and the absorption of ethnographic paradigm,which provides a new idea for the study of ethnic language policies in China.
