Research on Spatial Correlation Characteristics and Effects of Regional Innovation Capability in China
Strengthening regional linkage and promoting collaborative innovation is an important measure to im-prove innovation ability and achieving high-quality development.Based on the data of 30 provincial-level regions in China, this paper uses spatial autocorrelation test and social network analysis to investigate the spatial correlation char-acteristics of regional innovation capability in China and further explores the influence impact of individual network structure characteristics on innovation capability. The results show that the spatial distribution of regional innovation capability from proximity perspective presents the characteristics of"homogeneous agglomeration",and most regions are in the low-value agglomeration area and remain stable for a long time. The spatial correlation of regional innova-tion capability from the network perspective shows a complex network pattern, whose connection becomes increasingly closer, and whose structure tends to be stable.Jiangsu,Shanghai,Tianjin,Zhejiang,Beijing and Guangdong are lo-cated at the core of the network with relatively high centrality of degree, closeness and betweenness. Both centrality of degree and closeness can significantly promote the improvement of regional innovation capability, and the marginal effect of degree centrality is stronger than that of closeness centrality, while the betweenness centrality shows a nega-tive effect. Therefore,in the process of promoting regional collaborative innovation,it is necessary to establish the awareness of innovation spatial linkage, strengthen the innovation radiation of core regions, accurately formulate inno-vative development policies, and improve the construction of collaborative innovation system.
