Agricultural Cooperatives in Rural Revitalization:European Experience as a Mirror to China
Agricultural and rural development is the weakness in the process of modernization of China.The frag-mentation,small scale and low degree of specialization of agricultural production are the weaknesses that restrict agri-cultural and rural modernization.The idea of collaboration among cooperatives is important experience to solve diffi-culties in agricultural development around the world.Drawing on the successful experience of collaborative economy in Europe,particularly focusing on France and Germany,which are the best examples of agricultural cooperatives,this study aims to explore the methods and approaches to realizing agricultural modernization with digital means,by promo-ting close relationships among members in cooperatives,local cooperatives,and external networks.It is proposed that in the rural revitalization of China,we should fully utilize the"crisis resolution characteristics"and development resil-ience inherent in farmer professional cooperatives,by deepening the interactive development between cooperatives and rural communities,improving the degree of organization of cooperatives,strengthening the construction of market sup-port networks for cooperative development,and using digital governance to promote the development of agricultural co-operatives.This will advance the transition of farmer professional cooperatives from a traditional to a modern mode,and improve the fundamental role of agricultural collaborative economy in the strategy of rural revitalization.
