Study on Urban Households'Behavior of Borrowing for Living Expenses within the Framework of Sustainable Livelihoods:An Empirical Analysis Based on CHFS Data of 2017
Based on the data of China Household Finance Survey(CHFS)of 2017,this paper designs a sustain-able livelihood framework for China's urban households'behavior of borrowing behavior for living expenses, uses en-tropy method to weight and Probit marginal effect model to perform regression analysis. It empirically analyzes the in-fluencing factors of urban households'behavior of borrowing behavior for living expenses both in the whole country and in the eastern, central and western regions respectively, and tests the endogeneity and robustness. The empirical results show that as for urban households in the central regions, human, economic and social capital will promote the emergence of borrowing for living expenses, while material capital will inhibit their behavior;as for urban households in the eastern and western regions, human, economic and social capital significantly impact borrowing behavior for liv-ing expenses, but the influencing factors vary with regions, resulting in different situations. Therefore,in order to im-prove the current situation of households'borrowing behavior for living expenses in various regions and reduce the household debt ratio, considering the regional conditions of manpower, economic, social, material and other factors, livelihood capital investment of urban households in the eastern region maintains a steady increase, household borrow-ing behavior develops steadily and orderly;while urban households in the central and western regions increase house-hold capital accumulation.Financial institutions should soften lending standards, cooperate with government policies, and combine with the efforts of households, financial institutions, and the government,to build a new pattern of sta-ble,harmonious and high-quality development.
