Research on Digital Economy,Industrial Structure and Balanced Economic Development between Regions
In the new development stage,grasping opportunities for digital economic development,deepening in-dustrial restructuring,and accelerating the development of modern industrial systems are key to promoting balanced e-conomic development between regions and achieving new breakthroughs.Digital economy(DE)can cross geograph-ical and temporal boundaries,advance changes in production modes,enhance fundamental public services,strengthen the basis for sustained growth of less-developed areas,and then accelerate balanced development between regions.Additionally,DE will accelerate the flows of production factors between industries by adopting digital technology to make industrial structure more equitable and advanced,and achieve new breakthroughs in the balanced economic de-velopment between regions with digital transformation.Based on an analysis of provincial panel data in China between 2011 and 2020,the results show that the growth of balanced economic development between regions can be effectively promoted via DE;the interaction between DE and a more equitable and advanced industrial structure,can foster the balanced economic development between regions,which has a significant threshold effect;and the influence of DE on balanced economic development between regions is non-linear,in the areas where their industrial structure is quite equitable but not advanced,the role of DE in promoting the balanced economic development between regions is more obvious,which is also more prominent in the southern regions.Based on the above conclusions,this paper puts for-ward policy suggestions from the aspects of increasing investment in digital infrastructure construction,comprehensive-ly promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure,and strengthening the interactive fusion of digital economy and industrial development.
