Analysis of the New Trends of Population Mobility and Its Influence on Rural Transformation in China
Rural population mobility is the most explanatory phenomenon of rural transformation and social change in China's modernization process, because it is not only the flow of labor resources, but also an important driving force for various system reform in urban and rural areas.Since the reform and opening up,rural population in China has been flowing to cities on a large scale and showing a continuous growth trend;however, since 2010,with the introduction of a series of agricultural promotion policy, such as agricultural tax and fee reforms, agricultural sub-sidy policies, rural land contracting practices, and transfer policies,as well as the optimization of the national rural development strategy, relevant indicators of rural population flow have also undergone phased changes. In order to sort out the trend and characteristics of this change, statistical description and analysis are conducted based on national population census data, population data from statistical yearbooks, and empirical survey data from the research group. The analysis results indicate that with the new trend of phased changes in rural population mobility, its impact on rural areas has shifted from explicit problems such as rural hollowing out and aging to structural imbalances in rural transfor-mation,which has also brought about thoughts on the repositioning of roles and functions of rural areas under the background of urban-rural integration. Therefore, this paper proposes some corresponding countermeasures and poli-cies to promote the positive role of rural population mobility in rural transformation and development.
