The implementation of the strategy of main functional areas is an important support for carrying out the new development concept and realizing the Chinese-style modernization.It is an important measure to promote the rational distribution of China's productivity and achieve high-quality regional development.It is conducive to opti-mizing the pattern of territorial development,strengthening ecological and environmental protection and achieving sus-tainable development.This paper introduces the emergence of concept of main functional areas,discusses the signifi-cance of implementing the strategy of main functional areas,and puts forward its guiding role in the preparation of ter-ritorial spatial planning.
